Hey, thanks for stopping by my blog last week. (I'm a little slow to respond. I suppose Christmas is a good reason to be late!) Hope yours was great.
ReplyDeleteJust answering your question about the Levain copycat recipes. No one knows Levains true recipe. (I WISH!) The one I like best that I linked to at Lisa Michele's blog, I think, is the closest to tasting the most like the real thing.
Happy New Year!
Huh, I just looked at hers and i think your right. Those look pretty dang close. Theres just so many out there and they're all so similar. mine are kind of different cuz i always use Crisco (dont know why, i just like the taste, but i can see why other people prefer butter instead, aside from the fact that thats probabaly what the real levain recipe calls for) and i think if your using butter for the Levain recipe, you have to use more flour (3 1/2 cups), but if your using Crisco you need to use a little less flour (more like 3 cups). anyway, happy new years to you too!!!!!
